Diaper Rash Secret Cure

This super~easy remedy for a terrible diaper rash is:

Simple,

Quick and incredibly Valuable!

Freedom was six months old when I was at my Mother-in-Law's going through the many "Mom" adventures while visiting. He had started cutting his first teeth, was still colic-y & fussy and on top of it all, he had a super bad diaper rash; red dots that were raw and cut open. Nothing helped and he basically didn't want to be changed or get a new diaper on. I began to cry a little and confess my feelings of desperation. I didn't have calendula which would be helpful and no way to get it very quickly. Plus, it wasn't resolving the rash. Calendula is my all-time favorite topical skin problem remedy-

what do I do when the best thing fails?

Enter the REAL solution

the CURE to any & all of the

diaper rashes my boys endured.

Homemade Baby Powder

Diaper Rash Cure!

Items needed:

Flour

Frying pan

Spatula

Glass bowl

A clean (recycled) spice container or an empty dried parmesan cheese container (anything that your powder can sift through)

Like I said, this procedure is extremely simple~ you can choose an inexpensive Flour or Gluten Free or Organic~ whichever your preference is. I keep Organic or GF on hand and use what I have in my pantry. You can use whatever amount you want/can fit into your baby powder container. Make sure you can easily get the top off so you can funnel the powder into the container.

My "go to" amount is 1 cup.

Pour the flour into the frying pan; a small one will do.

Heat the pan and brown the flour. YES! Brown the flour.

Use a spatula to roll it around. It will smell like burned...well, burned flour. Kind of like burned popcorn or burned hair... you get the idea.

Once the flour is completely brown it is done. Set aside to cool. If your container is plastic, it will melt it unless you cool it first. If you have a glass container, you could probably funnel it right away, but my advise is let it cool.

Once cooled, funnel your homemade baby powder into your container and "Voila!"

As you can see, I have a glass container, I have browned my flour and applied it generously to the affected area. I even put it in the diaper to make sure there's enough and it lasts.

Within 48-72 hours later, the rash is almost completely gone.

Extra info:

Baby's tend to get a Rash when they are teething! Keep that in mind.

Any time your baby is going through a transition, experiencing stress, or fussy for emotional reasons, they may get a rash. The more obvious is due to diaper type; if the skin remains moist from urine, growth of germs is encouraged resulting in a rash. In my favorite resource, Homeopathic Medicine At Home by Maesimund B. Panos, M.D. & Jane Heimlich, they suggest "let your baby crawl about with a bare bottom several times a day, confined to a safe area. A quick tub soak between changes will also help." I myself, have used wash clothes in place of quick bath. Also, they go on to say, "Apply Calendula ointment. In her book, Homeopathy for the First Aider, the late Dorothy Shepherd extols the virtues of Calendula ointment as a soothing and healing preparation. 'It is of much greater value than the ubiquitous boracic, zinc, or calamine ointments.'"

This book was published in 1980; some of the info is slightly out dated as we have come even farther with Homeopathy as of 2021. But, nonetheless, the info is still applicable and I find very interesting and subtle, valuable pieces of knowledge in a book like this and this book in particular.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope this was helpful.

Try it ~ It works!

I wish you and your family health, strength & happiness.
